When I'm Gone
In 2005, Jim Dorian started writing and working with guitarist Tom McDyne, who has toured with Circle to Circle and Jon Oliva’s Pain. They formed Dorian, a straight on rock band featuring melodic guitar riffs and melodic, strong vocals. The band filmed a video for their first single, “Siren’s Scream” gaining the band accolades worldwide. In 2006 Jim and Tom started collaborating with keyboard player Dan ‘Doc’ Fasciano thus creating the writing and production force behind a new rock act, Doctrine. Fasciano’s longtime friend Jon Oliva (Savatage, TSO, JOP) had taken an interest in the project and brought it to the attention of multi-platinum producer/ songwriter Paul O’Neill (Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Aerosmith). Paul O’Neill expressed a great interest not only in Doctrine but in Jim’s vocal style and stage presence.
