Written and produced by Mads Hauge and Phil Thornalley, the song was released digitally in the United Kingdom on 6 June 2009 and physically on 8 June 2009 as the album's lead single, spending one week atop the UK Singles Chart. It was strongly supported by BBC Radio 1, reaching the station's A-list. "Mama Do (Uh Oh, Uh Oh)" which according to The Official Charts Company company is the first time a debut single by a British female solo artist has come in at number one, without being the product of a Reality Show.
