Back in the UK for our 126th release, with Essexs favourite non reality-TV export, Joe Blake. Joe has been a friend of the label for a while now, and the pieces have finally fallen into place for hist first full EP release, and it certainly delivers. Lead track No Words blends some serious low-end artillery with mangled gospel vocal snips and distant stabs, to devastating effect. Second up, Curative bolts spaced out, eerie organs onto a bumping groove. Fusing You continues the same theme, blurring the lines between synths and processed samples to create a hypnotic vibe that works superbly. Finishing the package off, a transatlantic collaboration between The Reactivitz and Funk n Deep boss Durtysoxxx produces a direct, dancefloor targeted take on No Words.
