Atomic Clock
1. Atomic Clock (Original Mix) The name track of the EP opens the show with a grinding bassline and a plucked melodic theme which ticks on with the precision of an atomic clock. Only the breakdown offers a short haven with its soothing piano but eventually the clock starts ticking again and song breaks out into another go. The melodic theme variation is disciplined and of meticulous craftmanship, while the air of the track is even a bit mystical. 2. Puff The Dragon Arguably the most conspicuous track of the EP, Puff The Dragon is immersed in its totally own dimension. The track begins by introducing a muted main theme, accompanied with eerie synths, creepy FX sounds, foggy sighs and industrial clatters, painting a musical illustration of a paranoid mind on the run. The paranoia subsides little by little towards the descending breakdown, where big airy synths suddenly take over the whole soundspace in a vast but smooth buildup. The 2nd part of the track has a floating, soothing feeling, and the atmosphere has radically altered the nature of the main theme, which now presents itself in radiant, pulsating beauty. 3. Narc This truly sinister, dark tech trancer leads the listener into the morbid, violent world of a narc cop. The bassline and percussion section border techno in their ruthlessness. The beginning of the track is in itself a long introduction of the main theme, which drills itself through the accompaniment with a motor-like sound. The transition to the breakdown presents a truly masterful variation of the main theme, which mutates into massive drops, echoing into space. The 2nd part continues the plucking theme, now together with the most shameless ripping lead sound. Needless to say, Narc works best in big halls. 4. Atomic Clock (Ayuda & Hind Remix) Ayuda & Hind present a very different view to Atomic Clock. Their remix is based on the original's break theme rather than the hectic ticking main theme, which gives the tune a radically contrasting feel. The result is a refreshing, breezy and melodic progressive trancer. The track begins with soft, cut percs and deepens smoothly, bringing along new elements and synths. A capricious saw lead plays with the listener until the breakdown, which finally introduces the main theme. The saw takes over again shortly after the break, and the glistening main theme repeats for a final go before the song goes into outro.
