Bloom
After releasing two previous albums, "Angels" & "Simply: Vol I", Sabrina decided to take the horns and add production to her list of credits. With the assistance of producer and multi-instrumentalist, Tony Marvelli, Sabrina's latest cd "Bloom" is an offering of this artist's heart. Stripped down production gives the tracks an almost live feel that allows the listener to enter in and live the "moment" presented in each song. Drawing from her love of many types of music, "Bloom", showcases Sabrina's songwriting and vocal versatility. "Sound Check" is just what it says: a song written about working with the sound engineer to prepare for the show. The title track "Bloom" explores how love can blossem in a previously dry and desolate heart. "Over You" is an anthem of how hard we work to get over a relationship only to realize that we might not be quite as successful as we think. "Alone" fleshes out a conversation that many of us have had with ourselves at different points in our lives. No one wants to be alone; but we must work through a few things to make the first step toward finding love. "Secret" is a story of how the outer appearance can conceal what's really going on inside of us. "Cry A Little" was written to give Sabrina and the listener permission to be in touch with your feelings. Yet contrary to what might be the first impression, this is no pity-party song. The lyrics and melody hook remind you that there is hope in spite of what you're feeling. "What's The Use" caps off the album with a song that takes us to the precipice of despair yet emphasizes the hope and understanding that comes even in the midst of that despair. Breathing Music into Life is Sabrina's mantra and this latest cd "Bloom" helps the listener take another breath.
