Pierre Lapointe (born May 23, 1981 in Alma, Quebec) is a Québécois singer and keyboardist. He has won many prizes since his debut, including six Félix Awards during 2005 and 2006. He is well known for his voice and his obscure, esoteric lyrics, which tend to be melancholic. Another distinctive characteristic of his lyrics is their literary style.Lapointe has created the persona of an egotistical dandy on stage, but he does this mostly to deflect attention from himself.In June 2013, his studio album Punkt was longlisted for the 2013 Polaris Music Prize.
